PRESALE: Te Marae - Wharenui Model + Māmā & Me

from $320.00

Te Marae Wharenui has been created to support our ākonga to better visualise their Huarahi Ako (Learning Journey) with Te Arahou o Aotearoa - MAC.

As ākonga pass through our tomokanga, they enter through a portal into Te Ao Māori.  The wharenui is intrinsically links to our identity as tangata whenua and the parts of the wharenui are representative of the deep learning and development of Ngākau Māori (A Māori Heart).

The construction of our wharenui can be done in conjunction with the script provided with references to our MAC framework Te Whare Tapu o te Ngākau Māori, along with a copy of Māmā and Me.

The parts of the wharenui model are labelled with ingoa māori, as well as labels for each area of learning in relation to your MAC Huarahi Ako.

This resource is priced to ensure equitable access for all of our MAC kura.

Māmā and Me is a read aloud narrative designed to be emotive and to draw on feelings that support meaningful oral literacy. Māmā and me has been written to support and contextualise the journey through each aspect of Te Huarahi ako and looks at each Ngākau and provides a culturally emotive to encourage deeper and wider thinking. This resource calls for movement into a more wairua based way of seeing the world, as Te Ao Māori is a Wairua world. Written about a mokopuna and a grandmother, Māmā and Me should be adapted to suit the audience. Teaching the tikanga and kawa around whāngai (adoption according to Te Ao Māori) allows every listener to be the moko within the text and to claim Māmā as their Māmā too. Use the gift of imagination and the resource Māmā and me to provide context to the Model of Te Whare Tapu o Te Ngākau Māori.
