Abstract: Developing a strong relationship with your local marae, hapū and iwi is critical to understanding the narratives of the land and what this means to your school community. Come along to listen to our kōrero that will unpack the considerations that kura need to give when starting the journey of creating authentic relationships with marae, hapū, and iwi.

Engage your ākonga as researchers who actively seek, reflect upon and critique new knowledge and learning. This session will look at ways to explore our nation’s history and constitutional foundations with your learners by sharing a selection of tools/experiences.

Enrich karakia use and deepen understanding of this MAC karakia tool to enhance tikanga practices, grow Te Reo Māori and increase confidence as a base for ensuring the cementing of level 4B Te Reo Māori in your kura.
The session will unpack Te Whare Tapu o te Ngākau Māori karakia with some practical ideas and reflective questions for school and classroom use alongside developing Te Reo Māori.
